In Nigeria today, what can be classified as lies or malicious in reporting?

Naija

• Answer: whatever the government says are lies, are lies. No objection

• What can you term defamatory or derogatory?

• Answer: whatever the government says are defamatory or derogatory. No objection

• Then what is "truth" in a reportage?

• Answer: whatever the government says are truths, accept it. No objection?

• Who is the government?

• Answer: the same set of people, the elites, who are afraid of their shadows in the dark.

Former American President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, said and I quote, "Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country", off quote.

Bloggers are being sent to prisons across Nigeria everyday on trumped up charges by the government and its agents (the elites) for writing lies about them. And yet, they won't tell us the truth. Surprised? Don't be!

They lie to our faces every minute, no blinking, and expects us to accept everything hook, line and sinker, or even shout 'eureka' at their treachery.

"When government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."

God help the voiceless!
