New York — Angola and Burundi analyzed on Monday in New York (USA), issues related to the territorial security, the recent elections and inauguration of Burundian institutions.

The subjects were analyzed during an audience between the Speaker of the National Assembly, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, and Vice Speaker of Burundian Parliament, Edouard Nduwimana.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, the Burundian MP said to have thanked the support of Angola for the organization of elections in his country.

He explained to have assured the Angolan Speaker that political institutions have taken over and developed by the post-electoral context of 2015.

According to the source, the meeting addressed the situation of refugees who are in neighbouring countries, who fled the country because of rumors.

"As President of the International Conference of the Great Lakes, we call for the support of Angola to resolve this situation", he stressed, appealing to the return of refugees to Burundi.
