Blitz 75th anniversary: How London looked after bomb devastation

On this day 75 years ago, the German air force carried out devastating bombings across London.



Around 43,000 people were killed and countless evacuated during The Blitz – one of the worst periods of violence in British history.

But in typical fashion, the attitude at the time was very much ‘business as usual’.

Our motto is illustrated no better than in these pictures showing the city ravaged by Hitler, and how it stands proud today.
