Boy, 12, trips up and punches hole in £1million painting

Fortunately for this 12-year-old, his family are not being asked to pay for the restoration of a painting he just ripped.

He was visiting a museum when he tripped over and put his hand through a 350-year-old painting worth £1million.

As you might expect, he looks round guiltily after damaging the Paolo Porpora oil painting of flowers.

He was described by Andrea Rossi, curator of the exhibition, as being nervous, but added that she did not want him to be blamed.

Fortunately the painting is insured so it can be restored and he didn’t spill any of his drink on the painting.

And breathe…

It was part of the Face of Leonardo, Images of a Genius exhibition in Taipei, Taiwan.
