The protesters barricaded Ayangba-Abuja road by Itobe over the nomination of Bello as the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s governorship aspirant.

The APC have picked Bello to replace the late Prince Audu as its candidate for the December 5 supplementary election in Kogi state.

At the same time Audu’s deputy, James Abiodun Faleke, was retained as the party’s deputy governorship candidate.

Bello, instead of Mohammed Audu, the son of the late governorship candidate, will be replacing Audu who died shortly after the Independent Electoral Commission announced the November 21 governorship election in the state inconclusive.

Audu died last weekend after leading the poll with 41,000.
