Russian President, Vladimir Putin, who often struggles to keep his own clothes on, has banned Pornhub in the country.
The country’s telecoms supervisor Roskomnadzor has blocked Pornhub – one of the web’s most popular domains – for ‘illegal pornography’.
Interestingly, Pornhub released data showing in 2014, that not only is Pornhub popular in the country, Russians have an insatiable passion for heterosexual anal sex.
‘Proportionately speaking, Pornhub gets more requests for anal sex from Russia than any other country,’ the site’s Insights team said.
The ban comes after Russia threatened to block Reddit, for an article describing how to grow magic mushrooms, and Wikipedia, for an article on Indian hash.
Reddit agreed to block the pages dealing with drugs, and Russia has blocked several Wikipedia pages, and the sites remain available in the country.
Pornhub, though, looks likely to be a longer-lasting ban, along with 11 other porn sites singled out by Russian authorities.
