BREAKING: Anti-terror police hunting team behind Paris attacks carry out Belgian raids

A SERIES of raids are being carried out in Brussels as police hunt for the terror team linked to Paris suicide bomber Bilal Hadfi.

AP The raids were being carried out in Molenbeek today

Some of the six sieges now taking place in the city are at the now-notorious suburb of Molenbeek.

An official for the Belgian federal prosecutor's office revealed the actions this monring.

Bilal Hadfi has been identified as one of three attackers at the Stade de France stadium. The raids are focused on "his entourage," the official said.

It follows yesterday's dramatic raids in Paris which saw two terrorists killed.

Molenbeek has been described as safe haven for Belgian jihadis.

In the immediate aftermath of the Paris attacks police carried out a series of raids for key suspects who lived in the Brussels suburb.

They arrested two people and charge then with terror offences.

Hadfi attempted to get into the international match between France and Germany on Friday but his plans were thwarted by stadium security.

The 20-year-old, nicknamed the baby-faced terrorist, blew up outside the venue, killing one civilian.

It was revealed yesterday he was able to get to Syria for terror training before returning freely to France to take part in the Paris attacks.

It comes as Belgium announces a new package of anti-terror measures in the wake of the Paris attacks.

The country, which has been accused of being a soft-touch on extremism, is looking at ammending its constitution to extend the length of time terror suspects can be held without police charge.

Prime Minister Charles Michel said: "All democratic forces have to work together to strengthen our security."
