The reporters outside Ahmed's home were in for a treat.
The teenager who became everyone’s new favourite new internet celebrity has also got a pretty generous family too, it turns out.
Ahmed Mohamed, who was pictured being handcuffed at school because teachers thought his homemade clock was a bomb, was yesterday back home with his parents.

As a result of the online furore, news channels and reporters from across the U.S. gathered on his doorstep for a press conference.
While they waited, they were in for a treat when Ahmed’s parents bought them all pizza and drinks.
Ahmed began a press conference with the Muslim greeting for peace ‘as-salaamu alaykum’, before saying he wanted to use his moment of publicity to ‘help every other kid in the entire world that has a problem like this’.
He said: ‘I built the clock to impress my teacher, but when I showed it to her, she thought it was a threat to her. So it was really sad she took the wrong impression of it.’
‘I am grateful to the United States of America,’ he added, attributing the widespread support to ‘something that was touching the heart for everybody.’
Also there was Ahmed’s father, Mohamed El Hassan, 54, who commented on his son’s arrest: ‘That is not America. That is not us. That is not like us.’
Ahmed said he is thinking about changing schools, and yes – he has accepted President Obama’s invitation.
