Ogun police declare war on land-grabbers

Police commissioner

The Ogun State Police Command has declared war on land speculators and land-grabbers, who have been unleashing mayhem in some parts of the state.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Abdulmajid Ali, made this known while addressing, senior police officers in his office at state Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Friday.

He directed his officers to arrest anyone or group of hoodlums fomenting trouble or attacking and injuring innocent people of Ogun State on any land or land-related matter, and charged such persons to court for armed robbery, murder or kidnapping.

The commissioner vowed to deal decisively with any land-grabbers/speculators particularly in Ota, Ifo, Ofada, Mowe, Ibafo and Ogijo or other parts of the state, who might want to truncate the peace and security being enjoyed in the state.

Ali, however, assured the people of the state to be calm and go about their lawful business as all structures had been put in place to checkmate or curtail any illegal acts of undesirable individuals who might want to create crises.

He said the residents could reach him through Short Message Service only on GSM No. 08055885588 in case they encounter any land-grabber or speculator anywhere in the state.
