I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here: Lady Colin Campbell's husband couldn't 'touch' her when he found out she'd been raised a boy

Lady Colin Campbell's ex-husband only found out she'd been raised as a boy, and had gender corrective surgery, after the couple had already married and has admitted the revelations ruined their relationship.

Lord Colin Campbell, 69, who tied the knot with the then-25-year-old Georgia Ziadie after a whirlwind five-day romance made the extraordinary claims in an interview in the Sun on Sunday - his first for 40 years.

Describing the moment he found out she'd lived as a boy until she was 18, Colin said he couldn't bring himself to "touch" his wife.

“I was stunned. I simply could not believe what I was hearing," he said.

“After she told me I could not even bring myself to look at my wife, let alone touch her.

“My brother, the Duke of Argyll, called me and asked: ‘Do you realise you have married a man?’.

He continued: “He was wrong about that, I now realise, but it was a massive shock at the time. Before then I had not had the slightest suspicion.

“She was a beautiful, flirtatious young woman when I met her. But I soon discovered that she is trouble with a capital T.

“If I could offer any advice to the other contestants in the jungle it would be to avoid her at all costs.”

Lady C's extraordinary story has been matched by her outrageous behaviour in the jungle where the royal biographer has lashed out at her fellow camp mates and even the viewers.

Born with a genital malformation, Lady C's family - believing her to be a boy- raised her as George and gave her male hormones when she had tried to act like a girl. Later she was confirmed to be biologically female and underwent surgery when she was 21.

Lord Colin met the Jamaican-born socialite in New York in 1974, but a month after the marriage the truth about her past was revealed when a journalist uncovered her birth certificate and falsely claimed she was a transexual.

The marriage soon broke down over the scandal and they split after 10 months together.

He added: He said: “Looking back I do feel sorry for her, but she should have told me the truth.

"Things were not so liberal back then and the scandal was deeply embarrassing for my family.”

Despite his claims, Lady C has previously insisted she made sure her husband did know about her past before they were man and wife.

She said of her ex-husband's allegations: “Of course, before we were married, I made sure I told him. And besides, he had lived in Jamaica, where everyone knew. But I did not want my private life in the gutter press.”

A representative for Lady C has told Mirror Celeb they are consulting lawyers.
