Ogun State: Ladi Lekuti, APC Chairman Ijebu Ode Is In Trouble Again

APC Chairman, Ladi Lekuti beaten blue black by Tola Banjo and his boys

Mr Ladi Lekuti, the APC Chairman Ijebu Ode has misstep again and will be dealt with seriously by Governor Amosun, according to a source.

His latest offense was his audacity to attend the 'Bola Tinubu Colloquium' in Abuja earlier this week, after the initial warning from the governor that he was no longer the chairman of the party in the local government.

For not seeking the governor's permission to attend Tinubu's birthday, APC National leader, was an effrontery taken too far.

On his return from Abuja, Governor Amosun is said to have convene a meeting of the state's stakeholders (his caucus though!) to get Lekuti removed within a week; but the obstacle they are facing is the section of the APC constitution that won't let the removal of the chairman a 'coded thing' because the national body must be involved.

Gov. Amosun and Tola Banjo in cheerful mood

This is a path the Governor don't want to take.

But, Tola Banjo, the immediate past Deputy Speaker of Ogun state house of assembly who led some thugs to Lekuti's house few weeks ago, now the special adviser to the governor, is ready to do it again until Lekuti is flushed out.

He is personally fighting Lekuti for what he called "betrayal of trust and anti party activities" that led to his loss in the last election.

He accused Lekuti of conniving with the PDP and was paid to sabotage his election chances.

Lekuti denied this and instead accused Tola Banjo as the real betrayal who abandoned the party for 4 years after working hard to get him elected and only came back to lord it over then when it was the time for another election. He said PDP never gave him any money because there was no reason for such when his party's candidate never involved them in the election in the first place.

According to a source, Mr lekuti has been suspended from the party on Wednesday after the return of Tola Banjo back from his recent trip. He was accused of embezzling the secretariat rent and anti party activities. His vice has been appointed to take his position.

Let's see who will blink first!
