An industrialist and former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has described the late Kogi State All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu, as a consummate politician whose death is a big blow to the nation.
Kalu, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Kunle Oyewumi, to commiserate with the government and people of Kogi State as well as the APC, acknowledged the late politician as a selfless leader and re-called his last encounter with Audu.
The former Governor urged Audu’s family to take solace in the fact that their patriarch lived a purposeful life and contributed to the socio-political development of Nigeria.

According to him,
“I received with rude shock and sadness, the news of the passing of my former colleague and friend, Audu. He was hale and hearty when I visited him in Lokoja a few days ago before the November 21 governorship election in Kogi State. We cracked jokes and dis- cussed for a long time. His demise is, indeed, a personal loss to me and my family.
“Prince Audu built friendship beyond political and ethnic divides.
“He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and political associates. May God rest his soul.”
