A primary school teacher has been exposed as a serial thief after she appeared on the Channel 4 show Come Dine With Me.
Sophie Hunter-Brown was so renowned for stealing that her photograph was pinned on the walls of a staff room at her local Asda.
She has since been banned from every branch in the UK.
The 30-year-old was spotted in a re-run episode of the hit Channel 4 show and was subsequently arrested by police for several food thefts from the superstore in Aberdare, South Wales.
Yet Ms Hunter-Brown narrowly avoided being taken off the teaching register after a disciplinary hearing yesterday.
The hearing was told that the teacher would use self-service machines to pay for her items, put her card in but then remove it just before payment was taken, between April and July 2014.
Ms Hunter-Brown claims it had been a ‘mistake’.

She was eventually confronted by security staff for not paying for her shopping on three occasions, which resulted in a loss of £83 for Asda, where she admitted to stealing her groceries because she ‘couldn’t afford to feed herself.’
She was given a conditional caution after admitting theft and was made to pay Asda compensation.
At the hearing, Ms Hunter-Brown said: ‘It was a mistake not to check that the payments had gone through. It was the result of personal stress in my life.
‘Had I been taken to a police station instead of being interviewed in the back of Asda and given time to collect my thoughts I would’ve answered differently.’
She was previously fined for stealing from a Dunelm store in Cardiff in 2010.
