All seems not well between Ogun State Government headed by the State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God.
On Thursday the Ultra modern Ogun State headquarters of the church still under construction was demolished by agents of the state government, the big edifice which is at roofing level located inside Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Abeokuta was reduced to rubbles despite claims that the church have all the legal documents and approvals.
Insiders told MetroNews that the special branch of the church is pastored by Hon Remmy Hassan who was a former member of Ogun State House of Assembly which fell out with the governor. It cannot be outrightly linked if the opposing stand of the Pastor politician caused the demolition of the Church building.
We also gathered that Pastor Adeboye refused to appeal to the Governor to avert the demolition saying the seat of the Governor is just for a stipulated time while the church of God is everlasting.
The demolition took place at about 4pm on thursday evening. In another development, the Ogun State government and The Redeemed Church have been engaged in controversial claims of who is presently repairing the bad portion of Ogun State side of Lagos – Ibadan Expressway which has caused a lot of traffic gridlock for days. A report in Punch Newspaper monitored online published claims that the Church is undertaking the road repairs while the State Government is also laying claim to the road repair.
