Sam Rader, 29, found out that his wife Nia, 26, was pregnant before she did because the mother-of-two doesn't flush in the middle of the night
He broke the news to her on camera, Nia was both shocked and thrilled
But four days later they have told viewers they suffered a miscarriage
The childhood sweethearts from Wills Point, Texas, have two children
The husband who surprised his wife with the news that she was pregnant has recorded another video claiming that she has suffered a miscarriage.
Sam Rader, 29, and his wife Nia, 26, became an internet sensation on Wednesday with a video on their YouTube channel.
Sam surreptitiously dropped a pregnancy test in the toilet after Nia failed to flush, and filmed the moment he told her it was positive.
Just four days later, however, the Texas childhood sweethearts have tearfully revealed they lost the baby.
Their latest video, which had already amassed more than 380,000 views in just a couple of hours, comes as miscarriage is a headline topic across the world, following Mark Zuckerberg's announcement that he and his wife Priscilla had endured three previous miscarriages.
Emotion: Sam and Nia Rader, whose pregnancy announcement was an internet sensation, have miscarried, they say
Miscarriage news: The Texas childhood sweethearts recorded the vlog four days after their first video
'We were just so overjoyed… it was like a huge celebration and then it just - bam - it just hit us like a bomb,' Nia said, weeping, as Sam held his head in his hands.
'Those of you who have experienced miscarriage before, I can relate now.'
She adds: 'I just want to say, too, that maybe there's someone out there that's going through this with us.
'The Bible says to weep with those who weep and mourn with those who mourn, and I am mourning with those of you who are feeling this.'
The couple, who have two children, were already popular vloggers when their pregnancy test video became a sensation.
And while many of their fans have spoken out to offer their support to the couple, there are some who have raised concerns over their decision to share the pregnancy news so quickly, while others have suggested the pregnancy test, which was done with a diluted urine sample, may not have been accurate in the first place.
Vloggers Sam and Nia share their heartbreak over miscarriage
'Watery [wee] out of a toilet bowl isn't an appropriate pregnancy test sample,' YouTube user warwoods commented on the couple's latest video, before going on to accuse the pair of using the opportunity to garner more attention for their channel.
'Sam and Nia are viral posters.... this is staged for income gain (posts with big viewing numbers are paid to them)..... chemical pregnancy, early pregnancy loss, miscarriage can occur at any stage during 'pregnancy'.....even in late pregnancy there is stillbirth. Just seems this all lacks a sense of 'genuine'.... [sic]'
The same user added in a second comment: 'It is just a shame a watery evening [wee] is not the best sample for a urine pregnancy test and a fetal heartbeat cannot usually be detected before 6 weeks - fetal pole yes but heartbeat doesn't usually show until well after 6 weeks.
'Sure - if they believe they lost a child I feel for them but if they have faked a loss and involved their other children in the staged show words cannot share how messed up that is.'
A second person posting under the name Somatta Pokharel, also said: 'They should have waited, but they got fame and money for telling the whole world after 2 weeks.'

My turn! Sam was excited to get to be the one who found out about the pregnancy first this time
The couple's original pregnancy announcement took the world by storm when it was shared on their channel last week. The clip started out with Sam explaining his plan to the viewers, before attempting to take a pregnancy test for his wife.
'I've got some big plans this morning,' Sam whispers to the camera at the beginning of the video, which earned over half a million views within a matter of hours.
He's standing in the couple's bathroom, carefully keeping his voice low so his wife won't hear what he is doing.
'So I had this dream about announcing Nia's pregnancy to her,' he says. 'I wanted to find out before she does. And last night, at 1:30am while I was at work, she randomly texts me and says that she's two weeks late.
'All night long, Nia goes pee throughout the night. She has a bladder the size of a golf ball. And she doesn't flush the toilet at night because she's afraid she'll wake up the baby,' he explains.
Because Sam has just gotten off working a night shift, he's been able to get to the toilet before Nia is able to flush it that morning, telling the camera: 'So here I am, I'm so excited - I have a specimen. I knew it would be there.'
Husband shocks wife with pregnancy announcement
It's a baby! The happy hubby brought home a pregnancy test and used a dropper to take urine out of the toilet; he was thrilled to see the test was positive
Totally pumped: It took the ecstatic father-of-two a few minutes to calm down before he could take the camera to the kitchen to find his wife
He then gestures to the toilet, which indeed has urine in it. Sam admits that he's not sure if any pregnancy hormones in the sample will register on the test because it's diluted by water, but he's brought one home and is ready to try it.
'This time around, I'm gonna be doing the announcement,' he says with clear excitement. 'I hope so bad she's pregnant.'
Sam takes out the test and drops a sample of urine from the bowl onto it. He watches as the indicator turns pink, quickly revealing that Nia is, in fact, going to have a baby.

After collecting his thoughts, Sam leaves the bathroom and walks down into the couple's colorful kitchen, where Nia is wearing a red polka-dot robe and serving breakfast to their two children, Symphony and Abram.

That crazy guy: Nia, 26, is used to Sam filming things for their YouTube channel - but was confused that he was recording this particular moment, with seemingly nothing going on
He's got a secret: Sam kept hinting that he knew something that Nia didn't, but the bemused mom just laughed
Very funny: Sam presented Nia with the positive pregnancy test, which she assumed was a gag
He procrastinates for a few seconds, seemingly giddy with excitement as he builds up to the moment. Nia asks him several times what he's doing as he walks around the kitchen filming her and their children.
Sam then starts to drop hints. Nia goes to the cabinet to get jelly, and Sam asks her if she's getting wine.
'Oh, that's right, you can't have wine,' he says, before telling her she could make a bologna sandwich. 'Oh, that's right, you can't have bologna.'
Nia seems increasingly confused and bewildered by her husband's behavior. She talks into the camera, addressing the couple's YouTube subscribers: 'He's full of bologna, you guys - he doesn't know what he's talking about.'
'Oh, I don't?' asks Sam, laughing. After Nia tells him that she hasn't even taken a test yet, so she can't be sure that they are expecting, Sam rushes out of the room to get the one that he just used. He hides it in his pocket and asks Nia to take it out.
It's true! When he insisted that it was the real deal - and he'd actually already tested her pee - Nia was incredulous
So exciting: Nia was totally shocked when she learned the truth, as the couple had been trying to get pregnant again for a while
Watch it all: The young parents have a popular YouTube channel, where they plan to update their subscribers on the progress of their pregnancy
'You brought a positive one home? You're such a dork!' she says. 'You're hilarious... you're pregnant?'
One of their children, though, was having none of it, saying: 'You're pregnant, daddy? Daddy, only mommies get pregnant!'
Finally, after Sam insists that the test is real, Nia asks him if he got a dropper of pee out of the toilet. When he confirms that he did, she freaks out, excitedly asking him several times if he's serious.
'This isn't fair!' she says, adding that she had plans for how she was going to tell her husband when she learned that she was pregnant.
Brother and sister: Their children heard the good news too; Abram (left) seemed unfazed, while Symphony (right) got excited
Already a good sis: Symphony explained to Abram that there was a baby in their mommy's tummy
Proud parents: Nia couldn't stop smiling
Nia says that she hasn't had any morning sickness yet - as the couple's daughter can be heard telling their son in the background that he is going to be a big brother.
'The baby will have eyes!' the little girl says. 'There's a baby in her tummy!'
'I was starting to get a little worried that we weren't going to have another one, because it's been a while since we haven't used protection,' Sam says. 'I just feel so incredibly blessed.'
The couple tells viewers to keep checking back for more videos with updates on the pregnancy's progress.
'This is gonna be awesome,' says Nia.
