In what looks like a milestone in the history of the state, Governor Ambode tweeted the first image to confirm that Lagos will now be one of oil producing states in Nigeria. Apart from Ondo state, no other oil producing state in the southwest Nigeria. There have been rumours of oil deposit in other states in Southwest; states like Ogun and Osun have one time or the other in the recent past spoke on oil discovery in their states.
The Governor further tweeted;
"From Lagos East axis we have the petrochemical refinery factory by the Dangote Group which will come on board by 2018."
If Lagos become oil producing state, combined with the state as the commercial capital of Nigeria, Lagos may become the Texas of Africa.
