Politics: US Hospital Officially Discloses Kuku’s Health Condition

Kuku

The Management of the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama where the former Presidential Adviser on Niger Delta and Chairman of Amnesty Programme, Honourable Kingsley K. Kuku, is receiving treatment after a kneel surgery he underwent two weeks ago has officially confirmed his true health status.

Our correspondent who went on an independent investigation gathered that the former Jonathan’s aide had actually undergone the kneel surgery which has made the physicians caring for him place him on an intensive medical watch

Dr. James R. Andrews told our correspondent that Kuku had been advised by his personal surgeon at the hospital to be undergoing physiotherapy at a rehabilitation center recommended for him in Birmingham, Alabama from time to time in order to easily determine the true condition of the kneel.

He pressed further that Kuku came to the hospital yesterday, Wednesday to meet with the doctor that performed the surgery on him. That was the first appointment since the surgery took place on the 30th July.

Walking with the aids of crutches, the former Amnesty boss declined to grant an interview as a result of his health condition.

Asked by our correspondent when he is likely to be discharged by hospital, the Dr. James Andrews said that Kingsley Kuku is an outpatient and would not be allowed to jettison his treatment until he has fully recovered.

Also asked if the two months that was earlier confirmed for his treatment to be concluded was still something to go by, the physician said they were not sure as they would like to ensure that he does not have any complication after he is discharged.

He said it might be more than the earlier mentioned two months depending on how he responds to treatment.

“He will be required to stay here as long as the doctors suggest. Imagine, he had the surgery on July 30 and the doctor saw him today (Wednesday) August 12 for the first time. We cannot actually say when he will be released because the doctors will be asking him to visit them in the hospital from time to time in order to confirm the progress he gets at the rehabilitation center where he has been asked to undergo physiotherapy but why we think that he will be here for more than two months is that the affected area where the surgery was conducted on him is very critical. ” he said.

Meanwhile, our correspondent spoke with a man staying with Kuku at the rehabilitation center and he said that the pains that the former Amnesty boss is going through would not let be able to grant any interview at the moment.

The man who simply identified himself as Mike said: “You can see it by yourself that he is not on the run as said by some media outfit. This man has had a successful surgery . Staying here will be longer than expected because the doctor that performed the surgery on him saw him for the first time since he had the surgery on July 30, and only God knows when he will ask him to come back to the hospital for another appointment”

It would be recalled that Kuku had on July 30th underwent a major kneel surgery at the Andrews Sports, Medicine and Orthopedic Center, Birmingham in Alabama.

After the surgery, the hospital’s management in a reaction to inquiries by our correspondent in New York, said the operation carried out on Kuku was successful.

The management which spoke through Ms. Christina, an officer in charge of surgery appointments, continued that the former Amnesty chief would be put under a medical watch for up to two months or more at a rehabilitation center where therapies would be conducted on him.

Christina added that there was need for the hospital management to put Kuku under watch for sometime to avoid a setback in his treatment. She said the doctor would be giving him appointments from time to time to see the progress being made at the rehabilitation center.
