Dog left outside shop in pouring rain is given shelter by strangers

The couple got soaked so they could protect the dog (Picture: SWNS)

When they saw this dog shivering in the rain waiting for its owner this couple decided to help out.

The man took off his jacket and he and his girlfriend used it to shelter the Alsatian tied to a lamppost while it’s owner shopped in Marks and Spencer.

They stayed with the dog in Dover, Kent, for 20 minutes until the owner came out, unaware that it had been raining so hard.

Jon Sparkes, who works across the road at a Gala Bingo, spotted them with the dog and took some umbrellas for them to give it some shelter.

It was a bit easier once they got some umbrellas (Picture: SWNS)

He said: ‘As you can see the dude has taken his top off to protect the dog – the dog was there before the rain came.

‘They’ve selflessly protected the dog from rain and we’ve seen that and gave them umbrellas.

‘They were really grateful and they waited there until the owner came back who was also very grateful to the couple.’
