Two people a day dial 999 after getting trapped in the toilet and needing rescue.
According to new figures released by London Fire Brigade, since 2011, they attended 3,885 call outs to people stuck in their bathrooms.
Fire officers warned that the 999 service is only for genuine emergencies.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: 'It's embarrassing getting locked inside a toilet but the vast majority of the call outs are not emergencies and we'd like to wash our hands of these incidents, freeing up more time for our crews to assist people in real need of assistance.
