[PHOTOS] Cheryl Fernandez-Versini loses her ladylike decorum as she blows a raspberry in Simon Cowell's face during live X Factor quarrel

The theme of Saturday night's X Factor was Reinvention.

Usual fallout: Up to their usual bickering antics, Simon told her: '[It was] a tiny bit narcissistic giving the girl's your own song' to which she blew a raspberry in his face

Yet Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Simon Cowell showed they were certainly not willing to reinvent their on-screen antics as they yet again became embroiled in a playful tiff.
The 32-year-old pop star lost her ladylike decorum and stunning poise after the music mogul, 56, dubbed her 'narcissistic' to which she shockingly blew a raspberry in his face.

Not so pretty now! Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Simon Cowell showed they were certainly not willing to reinvent their on-screen antics as they yet again became embroiled in a playful tiff

Cheryl blows raspberry at Simon's 'narcistic' comment
On the night, the brunette was looking fierce in an elegantly decorated mini dress, which showed off her legs with a racy thigh-high split.

But it only took a little probing from frenemy Simon to crack Cheryl's cool exterior.

The popstar, who is charged with the Groups category, was the first judge to have an act of the stage as 4th Impact opened the show.

They were paying homage to their mentor as they sang Sound Of The Underground - the song that propelled Cheryl's band Girls Aloud to fame in 2002, although they made the song their own by using a mash-up with Clap Clap.

Yet when it came to the point of the evening for judge's comments, a slightly stunted Simon was unsure of the girls' name and was forced to ask Cheryl what they were called - Mylene, Irene, Almira and Celina.

Up to their usual bickering antics, Simon told her: '[It was] a tiny bit narcissistic giving the girls your own song.'

Cheryl slammed Simon for being predictable with his snide dig before insisting the girls chose their own song - after which, she blew a raspberry in his face - while an exasperated and shocked Simon said: 'That's really mature.'

Could be gone! Olly poked fun at the critical response to his and Caroline's performance, as he said that any of the performers could go home this week before stating that even he could be off the stage

Introducing the show was hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs, who have received mixed reviews for their performance as the presenters.

As the duo walked on to the stage they stunned fans when they appeared to go in for a kiss - although it appeared they were mocking the rumours that they are enjoying a romance.

All in the spirit of fun, Olly also poked fun at the critical response to his and Caroline's performance, as he said that any of the performers could go home this week before stating that even he could be off the stage.

Caroline looked stunning in a metallic-red prom-style dress while Olly looked suave in a black suit with a black shirt.

Another stand-out moment in the show was Che Chesterman's performance which saw him receive a standing ovation from the judges after a haunting rendition of The Supremes 1966 hit You Can't Hurry Love.

Completely overwhelmed by the performance, Rita said: 'Oh my goodness, I can't begin to tell you how relieved I am that you exist.

'I thought this show tonight was gonna drive me insane because its such a hard theme but you absolutely smashed it.'

Faced with his toughest critic, Simon, he was thrilled to receive a glowing review: 'You young man have just turned this competition upside down.

'Do you know how I know you are great? [It] is because when you shut your eyes, you know whose singing and that makes a great artist.'

'I get a knocking in the press about why do I do [the show] after all these years but it's moments like this is why I love my job - Discovering someone like you... I'm very impressed.

Nick added: 'It was great to see you as a pop star... For me tonight you and Che are miles ahead of everyone else.'

Rita slammed the performance, saying: 'I don't know if it's just me but I don't think you've challenged yourself enough this week... For me it didn't go anywhere... Song wise I didn't get it.'

Her opinion was unpopular, as Cheryl said: 'For me I think that's one of your best performances' while Simon shockingly agreed with Cheryl's positive reaction saying there was 'a gap in the market' for him.

Nick was first to hit out at the performance as he said: 'Like watching a really bad musical... I don't know if that headbutt made Simon go crazy.'

Rita backed up her radio DJ pal saying: 'Thank goodness for last week, Because if it was off this week.. Simon I don't know if he was too busy or his absence' while Cheryl concurred in blaming the head honcho, saying: 'Maybe Simon was getting his revenge back for the headbutt.'

Kiera Weathers, who was saved in the bottom two last week, put on a funky version of Mark Morrison's 1996 hit Return Of The Mack while wearing her hair in a slick ponytail and sporting a metallic blue mac.

Cheryl was impressed with the performance saying: 'I have to give it to Rita that was a fantastic song choice. Seriously good reinvention... You started off out of tune but you picked up.'

Simon however was not sold on the former barmaid's performance as he told her he did not know if it was enough to save her next week.

The show's most glamorous addition Seann Miley Moore was next to take the stage, singing California Dreamin' by The Mamas & Papas.

Rita described the singer as 'intoxicating' while Cheryl lauded the hopeful for acting as a 'great professional performer' who has it all.

Simon blasted the performance as 'lazy' while urging Seann to chat to Nick about turning him into a pop star rather than just somebody singing in a talent competition.

Despite an incredible performance, Simon was quick to slam the rendition, saying: 'I didn't love it I hated it. Everything I loved about you was gone.. What have they turned you into.

'You're not that person. You have to remain you. Sorry Rita but you put more effort into the other girls that you have her.

The beachy setting of the performance was met with a lukewarm reception from Rita and Nick who insisted he was 'cooler' than his performance yet Simon and Cheryl lauded his touching song.

Lauren Murray performed a rendition of James Bay's Hold Back The River which Cheryl described as a 'stunning vocal performance'.

She was thrilled when Simon said it was the best he had ever heard her, adding: 'The competition needs you.'
