Nigeria: Lagos commences work on Ejigbo-Ikotun road

Ongoing construction work on Ikotun-Egbe Road by men of Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC), Monday.

The Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) has intensified work on the reconstruction of the popular Brown Street in Oshodi as well as the Ejigbo-Ikotun road.

General Manager of the LSPWC, Engr. Ayotunde Sodeinde, said the ongoing reconstruction is in line with the promise of the State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, to give the roads which had hitherto been neglected a facelift.

He said aside the operation zero-tolerance on potholes which the Public Works gangs have continuously carried out across the metropolis, the long term objective of the government is to give major roads in the state a facelift.

According to Sodeinde, with the rainy season subsiding, efforts have been intensified to finish ongoing construction in both areas before the year runs out.

He said similar reconstruction is ongoing in other areas of the state to improve on the road networks across the metropolis.
