Young singer Ryan Howell of Britain’s Got Talent group Only Boys Aloud has died aged just 18.
Ryan was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, in 2014 and has been battling the disease ever since. He sadly lost his battle after having suffered a collapsed lung and struggling for breath.
His mum, Donna, heartbreakingly revealed he died in her arms after his collapse.
She said: ‘He liked to make people laugh. That was his goal. He had an infectious smile. He would put a smile on your face. He was the best son I could have ever had.
‘He died in my arms’.
Ryan and his group Only Boys Aloud came third on Britain’s Got Talent three years ago and the choir was made up of 140 14 to 19 year olds.

After being diagnosed back in 2014 Ryan was treated at Velindre Hospital cancer centre in Cardiff. Following his death his friends organised a concert to raise money for the centre and the event raised £600.
Kylie McKee, Velindre hospital’s deputy head of fundraising, told WalesOnline: ‘I assumed that, given the sudden passing of Ryan, the atmosphere at the event would be very sombre but it was far from it.
‘The room was packed full of people in their country and western costumes, dancing and chatting away.
‘Everybody I spoke to said the same thing: “It’s what Ryan would have wanted. He would have loved this tonight.’
His bandmates paid tribute:
At least 100 friends and relatives are expected to attend his funeral at Gwent Crematorium in Cwmbran at 2pm on Tuesday.
RIP Ryan.
